How does the transfer process work?

Once you have agreed on a sale with a seller, both parties must use a licensed firearms dealer to complete the transfer legally. Use our Dealers Directory to find a licensed dealer near you. Transfer fees vary by dealer — contact them directly for current rates and availability.

Can I buy a firearm from a seller in another state?

Yes — interstate transfers are permitted but must comply with both the seller’s and buyer’s state or territory legislation. A licensed dealer in your state will manage the incoming transfer on your behalf. Allow additional time for interstate transfers as paperwork requirements vary.

How do I know if a listing is legitimate?

All sellers on AllGuns are required to hold a valid firearms licence verified during registration. If you see something suspicious — incorrect details, pressure to bypass the transfer process, or requests to pay without using a dealer — use the Report a Listing link on the listing page and our team will investigate promptly.

How do I post my own listing for sale?

Log into your account and click Post My Listing in the navigation bar. You will need to register and verify your licence details before your listing goes live. Complete the listing form with accurate details, photos, and your asking price. Listings are reviewed by our team before publication to ensure compliance with Australian firearms legislation.
